The "stuffy-nose-sore-throat-coughing-headache-monster" arrived at our home several days ago. Yuck. Once he arrives he quickly visits with all of my children before I can kick him out the back door. (I must say I don't despise this guy like I do Mr.Throw-Up Man, but none the less, my kids feel miserable and I don't like seeing them this way...its so sad.) Since cold medicines seem to be the big "no-no" these days for little ones, I have been rubbing this on their little chests at night and brewing lots of hot tea with honey for them to drink. Last night around 10ish I found myself at the grocery picking up some pain meds for one of my sweeties as she couldn't sleep because of her sore throat. When I walked in the store I noticed they had big bags of Navel Oranges for $1.99. I picked up several as I remembered a great treat my mom use to make and I knew it would be the perfect medicine for all the sore throats in my home-

Frozen Orange Wheelies
All you do is cut each Orange in even slices
Lay them in rows on a cookie sheet.
Once you have a single layer, cover them with a sheet of wax paper and begin another row on top
Put another piece of wax paper on top and place them in the freezer over night.
(Once they are frozen you can put them in a freezer bag for easier storage.)
When you are ready to eat, just take out several slices and allow them to sit at room temperature for several minutes to soften just a bit. Pinch the peel and open to eat.
There you have it..."Frozen Orange Wheelies"...cold and sweet!

Super duper easy
full of vitamin C
and
much more healthy than a Popsicle!
They have been eating them all day....perfect...now if our "icky guest" would kindly leave the premise this momma would be thrilled to have her healthy giggly children back around the house. thank you.
